For Tore Renberg, Sæverud’s music has been a lifelong fascination. In this conversation, he explores the questions that have shaped his relationship with the music: How did this fascination begin? How has it inspired his own artistic expressions? What makes Sæverud’s artistry so unique and accessible?
Together with Christian Ihle Hadland, who will perform a selection of Sæverud’s piano pieces, Renberg invites us on a journey into Sæverud’s ability to create complex music that also reaches a wide audience.

Tore Renberg (b. 1972) is an award-winning Norwegian author and musician, known for the Jarle Klepp novel series and several other critically acclaimed works. His latest book, Lorden, was published in 2024.
Christian Ihle Hadland (b. 1983) is one of Norway’s most renowned pianists, celebrated for his wide-ranging repertoire and international recognition..
