Lysøen has many beautiful trails you can walk along, and there are several swimming spots on the island.

Note: There are adders on the island. Be especially careful if you walk off the path.

Here are some hiking suggestions:

Around Heimavatnet: 1.4 km An easy walk on a good path. Past the villa and back via Liaveien.

The Observation Tower: 1.8 km A round trip past the villa and back via Tårnveien. The path to the observation tower is marked with white signs along the way.

Around Lysevågen: 2.8 km A walk around Lysøen on paths and varied terrain. In some places, there are stairs. You can take a detour to the Grotto and to Furulunden. These are marked with signs.

The trails on Lysøen are covered with white shell sand.

You can swim right by the quay where the boat arrives and in Apalviken.

If you come by your own boat, we have three guest docks/pontoons available for your use. They are located near Gamletunet and are marked with "guest dock" signs.

If you have any questions about the guest docks, you can call the island supervisor at 90 82 17 39.
