Kode has the great pleasure of launching a solo exhibition by Lotte Konow Lund, her first major presentation in Bergen, the city where she grew up.
The exhibition will feature both older and brand new works from the artist’s 30-year-long career.
Lotte Konow Lund (born 1967) has been a prominent voice in the Norwegian artistic scene right since the start of her career. The exhibition at Kode this summer forms part of a series of presentations of major Norwegian artists with links to Western Norway and Bergen.
Konow Lund’s diverse artistic output is presented through around 100 works dating from 1998 through to the present, ranging from early, relatively unknown works to new pieces being displayed for the first time.
Lotte Konow Lund demonstrates that you can care about both art and people.
Her works incorporate a range of techniques, from video art, sculpture and painting through to printmaking, installation art and a socially-oriented artistic practice based on cooperation and dialogue.
The selection of works chosen reveals how Konow Lund has over the course of many years shed light on and explored contemporary social issues. By raising questions about class and feminism, social status and religion, she has become a prominent voice in the cultural debate, and her thoughts on the role of art as a socially-oriented practice are pivotal to the exhibition.
