About the artists

After many years abroad, tenor Erlend Tvinnereim returned to his hometown of Bergen in 2016. Through an active singing career, he has, in addition to regular engagements at the Operas in Geneva and Basel, visited a number of opera houses such as Staatsoper Hamburg, Theater St.Gallen, Szeged National Opera , Ho Chi Minh City Opera and more.

His extensive concert work includes recent concerts with, among others, Mozart's Requiem, Handel's Messiah, Britten's Saint Nicolas Mass and the St. John's Passion.

With the Tvinnereim & Båtstrand duo, he immerses himself in the Lied repertoire with a focus on re-poetry of the German romantic classics, as well as lesser-known Norwegian romantic compositions. The duo regularly perform concerts from north to south of the country.

Bendik Båtstrand, piano Bendik Båtstrand is educated at the Grieg Academy in Bergen and the Royal Danish Conservatory of Music in Copenhagen. After his diploma exam in 2008 under the guidance of Professor Niklas Siveløv, he had his public debut concert from the Soloist class in 2011.

Båtstrand, who now lives and teaches in Kristiansand, lived in Hammerfest for nearly ten years, where in addition to teaching he had executive activities in the region. He has a number of different concert projects and has broad experience of accompanying singers in opera and the song genre and has worked with singers such as Nina Gravrok, Espen Langvik and Lina Johnson.

In addition, he regularly tours with the Tvinnereim & Båtstrand duo.

Practical information

The concert ticket also includes entrance to the museum and Grieg's villa.

The museum is open as usual, with tours of the villa, free audio guide in the outdoor area, cafe and exhibition.
