Lunchtime concerts: Fuko Ishii

About the artist

In 2022, Fuko Ishii won the first prize in the International Edvard Grieg Piano Competition in Bergen. Now, we are looking forward to welcoming her back to Troldhaugen for a whole week!

"It was a moment when Fuko Ishii made me understand the emotion in a piece of music in a way I had not felt before," the Norwegian magazine Kontekst wrote about her performance of Grieg's A minor concerto in the final with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra.

Ishii currently performs concerts by Avantgarde Cultural Foundation in Cyprus, Bergen International Festival, Lofoten Piano Festival 2024 in Norway, Meissen Piano Festival, Blüthner Classics in Germany. She also appears as a Soloist with Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra and Krakow Philharmonic Orchestra. Her first CD with Brahms piano pieces was released in 2021.

Fuko Ishii was born in 1991 in Tokyo and graduated Toho Gakuen School of Music in her home town. She later studied with Prof. Claudio Martinez-Mehner at Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln and Basel Musik-Akademie.

New this year: Concert + bus + art!

This year it is easy to experience the music at Troldhaugen, in combination with art.

We offer a ticket that includes both a bus to Troldhaugen, a concert ticket with entrance to the museum, and entrance to Kode's art museums on the same day.

The bus leaves from the Bergen city centre at 11.00 am, outside Rasmus Meyer, and back at the same place.

Prices:

Ticket that includes concert + bus transport from Bergen city center + entrance to Kode's art museums: NOK 400/360/100.

Concert ticket without transport: NOK 200/130/100/50.

Practical information about the lunchtime concerts:

Two concerts per day: at 11.30 am and at 1 pm.

Duration: 30 minutes.

For those who choose a ticket with bus transport: The bus leaves at 11.00 am and returns at approximately 2.30 pm.

The tickets include entry to the museum and to Grieg's villa.

The tickets are not refundable.

Note that Troldhaugen is closed on Mondays.
