Buy ticketIn 2022, Kode received a new Steinway grand piano for the music hall room at Siljustøl. This will ensure great concert experiences in Harald Sæverud's composer home for generations to come.
We are delighted that the award-winning pianist Joachim Carr from Bergen will inaugurate the grand piano this Sunday. Carr himself has a close relationship with Siljustøl, where he took his first piano lessons with Harald's son, Sveinung Sæverud.
Carr performs a virtuoso program, with works by Lizst, Bach, Busoni, Messiaen - and Sæverud.
About the artist
In recent years, Joachim Carr has made a name for himself as a versatile soloist and chamber musician.
Carr won the international Edvard Grieg Piano Competition in 2014, and has received first prize in the chamber music competition in Lyon and the Robert Levin prize.
As a soloist, he has performed with a number of Scandinavia's leading orchestras such as The Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, Trondheim Symphony Orchestra and the Norwegian Radio Orchestra. In 2017, he had the honor of performing Grieg's A minor concerto at the Bergen Festival closing concert.
His latest solo record with works by Bach/Busoni, Liszt, Franck and Messiaen will be released on Claves in February 2023.
The grand piano was purchased with support from the Abraham Odfjells Stiftelse.
