About the artists

Ian Marcus Bjørsvik

The talented tenor Ian Marcus Bjørsvik (born 2002) from Askøy completed the music program at Langhaugen in Bergen in 2021, under the guidance of singing teacher Tore Johannessen. He has participated in Grieg Academy's Young Talents program with Hilde Haraldsen Sveen and is an active singer in Solistkoret UNG, led by Det Norske Solistkor.

Bjørsvik has been a soloist with various choirs and orchestras, including in Rossini's Petite messe solennelle with Grieg Academy's Chamber Choir. He is currently studying music at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen and was named the Musician of the Year in the Youth Music Championship 2021–2022, receiving a prize of 50,000 Norwegian kroner and a solo performance with the Norwegian Broadcasting Orchestra.

Kei Solvang

Kei Solvangis a talented pianist born in Japan but has been residing in Norway since she was five years old. Accepted into Grieg Academy's Young Talents (GUT) program in 2017 under the guidance of Signe Bakke, she also became part of the Talent Program at the Prof. Jiri Hlinka Piano Academy in 2019, led by Leif Ove Andsnes, Håvard Gimse, and Christian Ihle Hadland until the fall of 2022.

In 2018, Solvang won her category in the Youth Music Championship and performed in NRK's "Grieg minute by minute." In the summer of 2023, she impressed with a concert alongside the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra during the Bergen International Festival, where she played Anne-Marie Ørbeck's piano concerto "Konzertino."

Solvang is currently in her third year of the bachelor's program at the Royal Danish Academy of Music with Prof. Jens Elvekjær as her main mentor.

Practical information

The concert ticket also includes admission to the museum and Grieg's villa.

The museum is open as usual, offering guided tours of the villa, a free audio guide for the outdoor areas, a café, and an exhibition.
