Ingrid Askeland and Ai Weiwei are among the artists participating in a joint Norwegian-Chinese exhibition of ceramic art that opens on 23 January 2015 at KODE – Art Museums of Bergen.

2. October 2014 PR: Ready for a new Grieg Competition

The Edvard Grieg Museum Troldhaugen is organising the 14th International Edvard Grieg Piano Competition in Bergen from 11 to 18 October this year.

On Saturday 11 October 2014, 30 talented pianists from 19 different countries will converge in hopeful anticipation on Grieg’s home, Troldhaugen, in Bergen. In the course of one week they will compete for honour and glory – and a first prize consisting of 30 000 euro. It is the second time the competition will be arranged in Bergen.

KODE gets a site spesific sculptural piece by the american artist Lawrence Weiner in and at the "Lysverket" building, KODE 4. First part of the work is opened at 9 September.

12. June 2019 PR: Edvard Munch. There are Worlds Within Us

On September 6, 2019, KODE Bergen Art Museums will launch two major exhibitions of works by Edvard Munch. 

The exhibitions Edvard Munch. There are Worlds Within Us and The Experimental Self. Edvard Munch’s Photography aim to present the breadth of Munch’s artistic oeuvre, including painting, prints and photography, by displaying a large number of Munch’s most outstanding works. The Director of KODE Museums, Petter Snare, says that this autumn Bergen will become the world’s “Munch-capital.”.

10. May 2017 PR: Chiharu Shiota to exhibit at KODE this fall

The Japanese artist Chiharu Shiota will exhibit in Bergen this fall.

Shiota is internationally famous for her intricate and spectacular works using thread that fill entire rooms. Her exhibition will open on the 27th of October in KODE 2. Among other things she will create a site-specific work in thread for one of the newly refurbished galleries in the building.

24. October 2017 PR: Chiharu Shiota premiers new work at KODE

The installation "Direction" by the Japanese artist Chiharu Shiota premiers at KODE in Bergen on October 27. The exhibition will be opened by KODE’s new director Petter Snare.
